Notes on my return from the Nation's Capitol

I think the thing that rubs me the wrong way about D.C. is that it doesn’t feel very vibrant. It’s a lot of greys and muted colors, which results in it seeming a little drab.

Ultimately, though, had a nice weekend here filled with some incredible meals. The first night, I had a sweet & spicy chilean seabass at the Charter House that was so good that I’d be willing to come back here with the sole purpose of eating it again. The second night, we ate at a french restaurant called Marcel’s, where I dined on macadamia and blood orange salad and rack of lamb with madras sauce.

And I finally got one of the Whitney Museum Biennial T-Shirts from GAP.

Unfortunately, it rained on my cousin’s graduation, which was mildly annoying, but ultimately it was a nice ceremony - GWU is the only school in D.C. that has their graduation on the Mall, so at the very least the scenery was nice.

Am currently on the Bolt Bus which didn’t make the best first impression by showing up late, but is redeeming itself with this whole electricity and wi-fi internet thing.
